Motorola Reorgs Consumer Unit

E-mail Print PDF

(Reuters) Motorola Inc, planning to split in two as it seeks to fix its money-losing handset division, on Thursday appointed a series of executives in a move it said would improve cell phone development and accountability.

Rob Shaddock was named head of consumer products and Bruce Brda was made head of worldwide sales and operations, the company said in an email.

The organizational changes were aimed at developing products more quickly and improving customer influence on products at Motorola, which is losing market share to rivals Nokia and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd . (Reporting by Peter Henderson, editing by Richard Chang)
