ASUS Energy Processing Unit

With the focus now shifting towards making more energy-efficient products, motherboard manufacturers such as ASUS and Gigabyte have come up with technologies to keep power consumption (and heat output) down. ASUS names their technology the Energy Processing Unit (EPU) while Gigabyte calls theirs the Dynamic Energy Saver (DES).

According to ASUS, the "ASUS EPU utilizes innovative technology to digitally monitor and fine-tune the CPU power supply with improved VR responses in heavy or light loadings. Working together with AI Gear 3+, it automatically provides power for higher performance or improves efficiency by 50% when the PC is running low intensity applications - helping you attain the best possible power efficiency and energy savings of up to 80.23% to help save the environment".

Toshiba expands its business series Pro A300, Pro A300D and Pro L300

Toshiba expanded its business series Pro A300, Pro A300D and Pro L300 by adding new notebook models. Every product line got a new laptop.

Satellite Pro A300:

The Pro A300 is equipped with a 15.4” display and provides WXGA resolution. The notebook offers an Intel Core 2 Duo T5670 CPU with 1.8 GHz and 2 GB RAM. Furthermore, an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 in included too.

A 250 GB hard disk is used as mass storage device, and WLAN (802.11 b/g) is also included. The Pro A300 is already available and costs € 760...
